Our Founder

Reverend JaLisa A. Jones serves as the Campus Pastor of Churchland North Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia, under Pastor Melvin O. Jiggetts. A South Hill native, she ministers with passion and purpose, carrying her roots wherever she goes. JaLisa is currently employed as a Licensed Mental Health Professional. In 2021, she founded the Purposeful H.E.R. Foundation, a nonprofit that empowers women and girls through healing, enlightenment, and relationships—uplifting single mothers, women in prisons, and young girls across generations.

An author and creative voice, JaLisa wrote The Mirror Devotional, a 15-day journey guiding readers toward deeper intimacy with Christ and personal healing. She also co-hosts the podcast Cranberry Juice in a Wine Glass, where she sparks real conversations about faith, healing, and breaking generational cycles. JaLisa enjoys writing, working out, studying the Word, and spending time with loved ones (especially over crab legs).

At the heart of her ministry and counseling practice is her life’s mission: to bridge individual and generational gaps through the integration of theology and therapy—encouraging soul renewal, spiritual growth, and always pointing others to Jesus Christ.
